Misty Bosch-Hastings

Misty Bosch-Hastings serves as the Director of the Homeless Solutions Division for the City of Lawrence, Kansas. This newly established department is dedicated to implementing comprehensive strategies to end chronic homelessness within the community. Since joining the City team in July 2023 as the Homeless Programs Coordinator, Misty has been instrumental in expanding emergency shelter capacities, spearheading outreach initiatives, and driving efforts to eliminate chronic homelessness.

 

One of her notable achievements includes the development of "The Village," a transformative community designed to shelter vulnerable individuals and provide essential services to aid their recovery from homelessness. Additionally, Misty has played a pivotal role in crafting “A Place for Everyone,” Lawrence’s community-wide plan to end chronic homelessness, reflecting her commitment to collaborative solutions.

Misty's leadership extends to overseeing the City’s homeless outreach efforts, ensuring that the needs of the homeless population are met with compassion and efficiency. Her dedication to this monumental task exemplifies Lawrence’s spirit of collaboration and unwavering commitment to addressing homelessness.

 

Before her current role, Misty held significant positions including Director of Guest Services at the Topeka Rescue Mission Ministries and Housing & Homelessness Project Coordinator for the Kansas Department of Aging and Disability Services. Her extensive experience and unwavering dedication make her a vital asset in the fight against homelessness in Kansas.
