Moving Ahead Partnership (MAP)
Moving Ahead Partnership (MAP) of Topeka is a collaborative initiative that expands access to medical, social, and behavioral health services for individuals experiencing homelessness or housing instability. As a division of Compassion Strategies Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, MAP builds on the work of partnering agencies to provide coordinated support that helps at-risk adults and families move toward stability and independence.

On April 7, 2026, Compassion Strategies, in partnership with Topeka Rescue Mission and Impact Avenues, launched the Compassion Impact Center at 601 NW Harrison. This center serves as a central hub connecting people in Topeka and Shawnee County to essential services and long-term housing solutions, bringing together dozens of agencies to streamline access to care, reduce barriers, and offer comprehensive case management.

Services include housing navigation, behavioral health connections, healthcare access, benefits assistance, hygiene resources, veterinarian care and additional support for pets, and volunteer support. Community members can get involved by donating, volunteering, or contacting us. Each contribution helps create a coordinated pathway from homelessness to stable, supported living.

Astra Mental Health & Recovery
The Compassion Strategies MAP mobile shower trailer is an essential component of helping the unsheltered have access to a shower. This may be the only chance the unsheltered have to shower in days or even weeks. We believe everyone deserves the health, dignity, and hope a shower can bring.

We are grateful to Astra Mental Health & Recovery for donating this shower trailer to Compassion Strategies.
